3 weeks of school leftt

so we have finally started the book orson welles this week, and i dont think its to bad. its actually pretty hilarious wants you begin. A lot of the booj has bad words in it, but i think its was everybody thinks is funny. Also there is parts in the book where every teenager can relate to, like getting a girl or being to good of friends with one, even though you want to be their girlfriend. Anyways i think the book is pretty good.

So lacrosse this whole entire week has been pretty tough, we have had 3 games this whole entire week, and let me tell you it got crazy. We have been used to all of the rain we have been getting but now its nothing but hot and steamy weather. I honeslty think its been affecting how we play lacrosse but we have one 2 out of the 3 games this week, which is pretty good.

also school is winding down to 3 weeks left! that means that i need to kick it into high gear with my grades and end the school year strong. because i cant not have good grades!!!!

sickkkk

what a weak! we have finally finished julius caeser and have took the big test over it already. But now were starting orson wells, which happens to be another book :(. im going to say right now that i dont like to read unless the book happens to be really good and has like a meaning to it. Most books that i pick are crapy and i just can start reading it, but i hope this orson wells book is good. Also i hope its easier to understand unlike julius caeser where it had words like thou, shant and all of these fancy words that we dont use today. But anyways thats what we will be doing next week, starting orson wells.
So on friday this week, i went to the clinic during 7th period and as it turns out i had a temperature of 99.6 another .4 percent and i would have been sent home. it was crazy cause i had to miss lacrosse practice and my weekend was a peice of crap. As i write this blog right now im currently suffering from a strep throat which sucks cause that means that tomorrow i cant play in my lacrosse game against pickerington north tomorrow. (which if you didnt know, is supposed to be a really hard game)! and i wannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnt to playyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! but im mad!
hopefullly i will get betttttter :)

julius caesar book is complete

okay so this week was aboslutly crazy we got new seats and we had so many quizes and we finished the julius caeser book. It was a handful of stuff that we had to finish. I didnt do so well on like 2 quizzes but thank goodness we get to retake them on monday:)!

this week for lacrosse we lost our game against graniville which we shouldnt have because we already beat them in the scrimmage at the begginning of the year and our coach said that we could have so much better. But on saturday we had a tournament and played 2 teams. including dublin scioto and darby, and we smoked both of the teams. the refs did have some bad calls but other than that the games were pretty reckless if you ask me. hahahaha , but i still love lacrosse. when i got home i actually got sun burnt on my face and solders. which i dont mind cause i need it. And then some of my friends and i went to the cheesecake factory for dinner and was sosososos great.

Julius Caesar re- make

Many of the characters in Julius Caesar are very different from one another. They talk about each other, are backstabbing, misleading, liars, and all want to come to power. Throughout reading this book there are several main characters that could be switched with some of the people in our class (not to say that they are misleading liars, but more of how they act and what they do).

Brutus- In the story, Brutus is portrayed to be a backstabbing character. Brutus is supposed to be one of Caesars best friends but he ends up killing Caesar literally in the back. He knows that he must kill Caesar before he gets too much power. Also, according to Portia, Brutus is also a liar because when she asks Brutus if he is okay, his response is " Im not in good health." One person in our class that might fit this character could be Will. Even though Will tries to act like hes doing work in class, he really isn't. He back stabs Mr potter by saying he really is paying attention, when really he is not.

Julius Caesar- Caesar is one if the most uprising character in the book. He wants all power to himself and refuses to listen to others. When his wife Calpurnia tells him that she has a vision that he she sees a statue of Caesar with a fountain of blood, he doesn't do anything about it. Also when the soothsayer says "beware of the ides of March," Caesar just straight up ignores him. In some cases, Julius does not fear death because he knows that everyone has to face it, so why try to do anything about it now. A character that represent Julius is Mr potter. Mr Potter, has the ability to take control of our class room, and sometimes he gets a little out of control with his jokes and saying that Shakespeare is the man. Sometimes he does not listen to what his students have to say and is very sarcastic through what he says. And also Mr. Potter is very wise. He knows that everyone in class has to get there work done whether they want to or not.

Antony- Is a good friend of Julius Caesar who launches himself into a major position of power throughout the play. When Antony speaks out in scene III he explains to the pleabians that Casear was not an ambitious man, he was an honorable man. Three things he said was that he gives back to the Romans, by giving them their ransom back. Caesar also refuses the crown three times, and when Caesar saw the poor he began to cry, and felt sorrow for his people. A character that represents Antony would probably be Mark. Mark always has very smart comments during class and is always willing to back up Mr. Potter when he needs it. Mark is also a very outgoing person and has good speaking skills.

Those are just a couple of characters that if i had to switch with people in our class, that would who they would be.

Julius Caeser....etc

Again, Mr potter didn't give us topics for this weeks blog so now im forced to talk about English class. Personally, Julius caeser isn't one of the topics to die for. I don't know why, i guess its just because the way they spoke back then is hard for me to understand.

In class we have been reading a lot of the book. Along with reading we have to fill out a study packet that helps us out with our pop quizzes. ....Speaking of pop quizzes, we were given one on Tuesday, and let me tell you, i didn't do so well. I got a 5 out of 13. Which is complete failure. I wouldn't have gotten so bad it we didn't have to read the dumb book. But anyways i think Mr potter should show us the video and read the book, cause im a visual learner and things like that really help me. Another thing we should do is go over all the questions in the packet and help us review for the little quizzes he gives us. If we did all of this as a class I think i will be able to pull off a A on Julius Caesar.

Alright so this past week for lacrosse we played Delaware. and we beat the crap out of them 10- 2. I had 2 goals and 5 assists. It was such a good game for me and our coach was proud of us!:)

More Julius caeser

Okay, so all of this Julius caeser stuff is killing me. We had a quiz a couple of days ago and i got a 19/ 21 which is a 90. Im proud of myself knowing the material before the quiz cause i probably wouldn't have gotten the grade a got. Studying really helps me:) okay.. so during the reading in class, nick played the soothsayer and it was hilarious because he used this really funny voice that made like the whole entire class laugh and mr potter. hahahahahah, and also i like where i sit in class becuase abby is really helpful and shes a really trustworthy friend. thanks abby! (if your reading this)

also we had 2 lacrosse games this week. the first one we won against pickerington central 15-11 and the second one we lost 8-7. I know we could have had the game if we all pushed ourselves a little more and had much more control of the ball, but overall i thought we played really good. Last year we lost like 20- 8,... yea thats bad, and this year we came so close!!!! im so proud of my team:) !!!

april 9, 2011

Alright, so its the first week back from spring break, and English has been boring. I don't like Julius Cesar. In my personal opinion i think that the movie that we had to watch during this week was okay. The majority of it was nothing but fighting and people taking over each others countries and backstabbing each other. So yea... its okay. And in the end the guy ends up dying but doesn't listen to the the woman he married.

Okay, so enough about English!!!!
So everyday this week, we had lacrosse, except for Monday. We were supposed to have a game Monday, but because of the weather, it was cancelled. I was sososososo glad that we didn't have lacrosse whether the weather was terrible or not because during spring break i didn't practice lacrosse at all. I was really rusty when we had practice on Tuesday. Also were getting new jerseys and skirts for lax since we raised over 900 dollars from our max and ermas fun raiser and from our donatoes fun raiser. Im like really excited to get them tooo:)
* Plus were undefeated:)! <3

Mutli- Genre Blog Project

Before I Die - By Jenny Downham

Dear reader,
The book “Before I Die” written by Jenny Downham is one of the most alive books that you will ever read. Throughout the book you will notice that one of the many themes is to live your life and just go for it. I have chosen this theme because of how Tessa lives her life, since she has cancer. The main character Tessa who is diagnosed with leukemia caner has to face platelet transfusions and taking antibiotics and painkillers. This process day after day can become one of the biggest hardships a person could ever face. Tessa’s life is slowly dwindling on these things. Her friend Zoey on the other hand had been there for her most of the time when Tessa needs her. Tessa also creates a list of things to do before she dies, and with her friend Zoey they are going to do them together. Even though Tessa knows that she has only a couple of months to live, she is willing to complete the list of things that she has written down. This is where the theme of live your life and just go for it, comes into play. Tessa would rather continue her short period of life doing the things she wants to do rather than being in a hospital bed. Things like falling in love, taking drugs and having sex were one of the many things she would like to experience before her time was up. As the story follows through, each chapter gets closer and closer to her death. Also her family plays a big part in helping her get through her tough situations. Being the reader of this book, you will notice that living your life and going for it is all you need if you knew that you were going to die of cancer, while being a teenager. Doing all the things you can before you die is a task that everyone is going to want to do, it’s just a matter of going for it no matter what your circumstances are.

“Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced”.
 -Soren Kierkegaard

Poem
The days of life
They come and go
So much to learn
So much to know

Days are filled
With both good and bad
Most are happy
And some sad

We learn to laugh
Learn to love
And to chare
From god above

From the colors
And 1, 2, 3’s
Playing with friends
And swinging in trees

But as we grow
To an adult
We look back on life
To see the result

If we worked hard
And did our best
Then I guess you could say
We passed the test

But remember tell all
Before you go
Pass on what you learned
And what you know

For if we help another
To lessen their strife
We’ve then made a difference
In his or her life

"For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed but my soul"
-Judy Garland

Life Lessons List
  1. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
  2. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
  3. Make new friends in all possible ways
  4. Dare Life moves on so don’t dwindle of the past
  5. to try but never hold back
  6. Be there for others even though they aren’t for you
  7. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer.
  8. The most important part of your life is now!
  9. Sometimes the bad things in life aren’t always bad.
  10. Live, laugh and love are all you need in life.

"Anybody can sympathise with the sufferings of a friend, but it requires a very fine nature to sympathise with a friend's success."
- Oscar Wilde

Pictures with captions

A dandelion helps represents the hardships Tessa had to face during cancer.  When the wind blew or the ground shakes the small white seeds are released from the center of the ball and the dandelion would become bare. Like Tessa, when she had to get a plate transfusion or have to swallow drugs, she would become bare inside. It is for these simple things why a dandelion can portray the life of Tessa.

Without Tessa’s friend Zoey, probably more than half of the things that Tessa did, would not have happened. Zoey was her own character; she treated Tessa like a normal person and was willing to spend all the time she could with Tessa to make her feel better. The list that Tessa had created for the both of them to do was a task and itself. They both managed to do illegal things which meant being there for one another. Zoey was Tessa’s best friend.

For Tessa, life was much more than what it was supposed to be. She tried to spend every minute she could for the best. This picture helps illustrate all the things that Tessa wanted to experience or do before her time was up.

Love is something that Tessa always dreamed of. She wanted to feel the warmth of a man who would lie down on her and always be cared for. Tessa found such love through her neighbor Adam. At first she didn’t notice that she had the simplest feelings for him, but towards the end they both came close in friendship and they eventually fell in love.

"Life is life a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once."
-Lillian Dickson

Letter
Dear Zoey,
I know we have become close over these four years since I have been diagnosed with this cancer. Everything we have done together has really helped me get through this, even though we both know that’s it’s not going to get any better. Through thick and thin times I just want to thank you for everything. The bucket list that I created when sitting in my room during that really crappie day, really brought me alive. I’m so glad that we promised to do the things on the list together, because I know that I wouldn’t be able to do them without you. I was really nervous to do the first couple of thing, but we both managed.  Taking my dad’s car out without my permits, and taking drugs were probably the most entertaining things to do. I will always treasure those moments. Thanks!
Your friend,
Tessa

“And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years”.
   -Abraham Lincoln

Reflection
Each genre in my multi- genre blog represents my main, protagonist character in many ways. I tried to use a variety of poems, pictures, letters and lists to help get a better understanding of the main character in the book who is Tessa. One of the genre groups that I chose was to write a poem. The poem describes life within rhyming versus. Since Tessa has cancer, its best to talk about life and how your able to overcome it and facing death. The second genre I chose was to write a letter as being one of the characters in the book. This helps get a better understanding of how the people around Tessa helped her through her life while she had cancer. It also lets the reader know how Tessa communicates with her best friend and what they do together. The third genre that I chose was to find pictures. Each picture I tried to find represented all the things that Tessa treasured in her life before her life came to an end; one being love, and another friends and so on. Pictures also always help the reader understand visually what is going on in the book. The last genre that I chose, which was a choice of my own was to make a life lessons list. This list incorporated the things that people everyday should consider before things go “down hill” in their lives, whether its cancer, love or a death.
Some difficulties that I experienced were finding pictures. It wasn’t where I found the pictures but more of which picture best represented the group that I wanted them to be in. Like for searching love, I didn’t want words or a picture of a heart, but rather between two people. Another difficulty I had was being able to finish my book before this project. I didn’t take me long but I had to space out the amount of chapters that I was going to read and to manage my time.
Some things that I have learned from this project are to really dig deep about the theme of my book. Even though the girl Tessa gets cancer, the theme isn’t about getting cancer but how to overcome it and to spend the last months you have with the people you love.

My Greatest Achievement

As far as i remember, im not too sure if i have achieved something that great to be able to put it on my wall of achievements. I guess you could say that there are other little things like getting my first A++ on a test, in the fourth grade, or you could say if i score in lacrosse that would tie up the game. These little things are really much of a great achievement. I still have much more time in my life, hopefully, that will be out there for my greatest achievement. Maybe it will be in college or maybe it will be out there with my first job. Hopefully one of these things will be out there for me to succeed in.
hmmm... since  i dont have much to say about that topic, im going to talk about lax.

okay, so this week we have been having practices after school from 3:30 to 5:30. Let me tell you in was kinda tiring and cold the first day cause the sun wasent out. But now since its like 40 degrees outside, with the sun, its not to bad. Infact i enjoy it. Also we have new players more freshman than anyone else, so the learning process has been renewed once again. I like being able to teach others about lacrosse since i have some experience from last year and sharing what i know with others. Its been great:)

Science Fiction Story

Exit 2040

It’s a sunny day in North Palm Beach. The trees stood still as the days went. Today was the day Charlie had his big baseball game, it wasn’t just any baseball game but he was going to play against the Dodgers.
“Charlie”! “Wake up, its 10:30 and your baseball game is in a half hour,” Alice says. “Sigh, ugh, five more minutes’ mom,” Charlie yells, from his room upstairs. “No now! You still need to eat breakfast and we still need to figure out how to get there,” Alice says. “But mom”, Charlie yells. “No, ifs, ands, or buts, Charlie, I expect you to be downstairs within five minutes dressed and ready to go,” Alice screams. “Fine,” says Charlie.
When Charlie finally got dressed into his baseball uniform he came downstairs and sat by the kitchen bar. Alice began to fix him scrambled eggs with whole wheat toast, since that was the favorite.
“Hey mom,” Charlie says. “Yes,” Alice says. “Where’s my baseball game even at?” says Charlie. “Charlie, it’s near Sherwood Estates, and it’s about a 20 minute drive, so you better hurry up and eat or were going to be late,” Alice says. “And mom, can I drive?” Charlie asks. Alice explains “Well we have to take the freeway, and you only have your temps, so I think I should drive. Besides Charlie, were in a rush and I don’t feel like getting in an accident.” “Alright mom,” Charlie says.
Charlie finishes up his breakfast and he gets his baseball equipment out of the garage. Alice and Charlie get into the car, but Alice needs to grab the gps in order to get to the ball park.
“Here Charlie,” as Alice hands him the gps. “I need you to enter in the parks address for the baseball park,” Alice says. “Well, what’s the address for the baseball park,” Alice says. “Well, what’s the address,” Charlie asks. “Well I’m looking at your baseball schedule and I don’t even see a address, all it says is Exit 2040,” says Alice. “Then let’s take Exit 2040, or whatever it says,” says Charlie.
Alice began to think in her head about this address to the ball park. Why doesn’t an address exists? Why “Exit 2040,” it just doesn’t make any sense. Alice started the car and they began to head toward the freeway. The gps directed them to every, turn, traffic light, and road which was needed. It was 10:50 now, and Charlie’s baseball game starts in ten minutes. Charlie knew he was going to be late, but that really didn’t matter to him, what did matter was how to get there.
“Mom, I don’t think we are going the right way. We have been on this road for the past 15 minutes and we haven’t gotten anywhere, I don’t think,” Charlie says. “Charlie, hold your horses, if you didn’t have to wake up so late then we wouldn’t have to worry about being late to your baseball game,” says Alice.
Five more minutes passes by and when the clock in the car turns to 11:00 Charlie screamed “Mom, there’s Exit 2040,” says Charlie. “I know it would show up sooner or later Charlie, let me get the car in the right lane so we can take the exit ramp,” says Alice.
As Alice drove the car up the Exit ramp to 2040, a bright white light struck her car and blinded her and Charlie. Alice lost control of her car and had no clue what was going on…
When Charlie and Alice woke up, they thought they got into a car accident, but no car was in site. They were parked on a road in a lovely neighborhood.
“Charlie,” asks Alice. “Yea mom,” says Charlie. “Are you okay, you’re not hurt or anything are you”? Asks Alice. “Mom I’m perfectly fine, so are we at the game already,” asks Charlie. “Well I suppose,” says Alice. “I don’t remember anything from the time I got off 2040 and to how I’m parked on the side of this road,” says Alice. “Well, I don’t know either, but hey let’s get out of the car and walk to the baseball park. I think I see it right down that street over there,” says Charlie. “Okay,” says Alice.
After Charlie grabs his equipment for baseball out of the trunk, Alice and him start walking toward the baseball park. When walking toward the park, Alice looks at the houses alongside the road and she notices that the houses in her neighborhood are nothing in comparison. These houses had solar top roofs, which would contract light during the summer and would be used to heat the house during winter. Also, in place of every mailbox there was a computerized stand that was touch screen, which you could access your electronic mail such as email.
“Dude, these look so sweet, why don’t we have one of those,” says Charlie. “Charlie please don’t call me dude, and it’s impossible to have one of these,” says Alice. “It almost looks like it’s futuristic,” says Alice. “I know,” says Charlie. “How about we just stick with getting to the game, I’m sure you already late enough,” says Alice.
As soon as Alice and Charlie arrived to the baseball park, there was absolutely no one there. Charlie sets down his bag and turns to look at his mom with a very confused expression on his face.
“Mom, I don’t understand what’s going on,” says Charlie. “I don’t know either, maybe we took a wrong turn on the freeway,” says Alice. “It’s more than a wrong turn, all I want to do is play my freaking baseball game,” Charlie explains. “Well I’m sorry. How about we grab some Canes and head home, but first I need to get some gas,” says Alice. “Sounds good to me,” says Charlie.
The two of them headed toward the car, and drove off. Alice couldn’t get a signal from the gps, so she just drove around until she found what happened to be a gas station. When she pulled into BP, there was something quit odd. There were no gas pumps, but there were several silver boxes that had a plug from one end to the other. And from that, it said high currency. Alice first thought that this was some kind of air pump, but the high currency wouldn’t make sense.
“Charlie, can you please get out of the car?” says Alice. Door opens, “yea mom,” says Charlie. “What do you think this is?” asks Alice. “Hey, I saw one of these on a TV commercial, they were predicting that it’s for your electric car,” says Charlie. “If it doesn’t come out until 2040,” then how is it here?” asks Alice. “Well we have no gas so what are we supposed to do now”? Asks Alice. “Mom it all makes sense, we exited 2040, there’s energy efficient homes, and the gas stations are now charging stations, also there’s no baseball game because its 2040!” says Charlie.
Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, goes Charlie’s alarm clock.
“Charlie wake up it 10:30 and you have a baseball game. Get up you have had plenty of sleep and silly dreams by now. Be downstairs in ten minutes because you don’t want to be late,” says Alice.

Waste of my time

Okay, so as i read Mr potters blog of the week, i thought his topic was quite interesting. It wasn't about what you like to do in your spare time, but what you consider is major waste of time. And I'm sure all of us have different views and ideas of how they prefer to waste their time but let me tell you about mine.

If im not busy and have decided to waste my time, i tend to do these thing.... 1) Facebook 2) Play video games 3) Download dumb apps on my i pod and if i don't like them then i delete them 3) Study anything that i feel like studying 4) text or call people 5) or do this dumb blog!:)

Though, it depends on what mood that I'm in to waste my time. If I'm happy, then Facebook is probably the right way to go for me, but if I'm mad about something or someone mad me mad, then Black Ops will definitely be my best option (*killing people) :)! Even though i have gotten through all of the levels i will go back through and play muiltplayer or zombie mood, hhehehehah.

Anyways, i try not to waste my time that much, but if it happens and im bored, then yess, i will decide to waste my time greatly!

Okay so i only have one brother, and his name is Jeff. We get a long the majority of the time, but because were 6 years apart, we really dont get on fights. On week days, were just doing our homeowork, so fighting over lame  stuff isn't really worth it. He's currently going to Ohio University in Pickerington and he workd at his college as well. Though when were younger, we did a lot more fighting. When i was about 7 or 8, me and my brother would fight over pokemon cards, and a bunch of that other crap. I think it was because i wanted all the shiny pokemon cards and he didnt want to give them to me. Another time was win we played baseball in the back yard. Like mr. potter, his brother and him could share the bat, but me and my brother Jeff had some issues with that. He was selfish, and wanted the bat to himself, while i was stuck fetching all of the stupid balls. It was not okay!!! Then when i was like 11, my family would go out to my grandpa and grandmas on sunday to eat a big dinner and then go "go- carting." We would go cart in the field of land that they owned and it was sooooooo fun. But according to my brother i was not allowed to drive. This really mad me mad, cause he wouldnt even give me a chance! What a terd. But eventually i was able to drive the go cart, and let me tell you, it was a whole bunch of fun:)
Overall my brother and i got along okay when we were young, and now we barely even have fights. Its amazing to to notice how when you get older, you get more mature, and dont you dont really care about fighting over the  baseball bat or wanting all the shiny pokemon cards. Cause eventually you understand whats right from wrong.

Heres a picture of me and my brother Jeff!

Okay, so this weekend starts the new quarter. So, far i have gotten high B's on all of my exams, and i was kinda looking forward to getting a couple of A's, but that didnt happen. Anyways, im still fine with my grades though. Also, this week, we started learning how to put commas in a sentence, also semicolons, and colons. I think its really easy, but that just me:) Today, Mr Potter showed us this really silly video of this guy singing cartoon songs to old cartoon shows. It was really weird and unexpecting, but really funny. When the guy had to sing My Little Pony, his voice went super duper high in order to sing that part. hahahahahahahahahahahaha

I recongnized like 4 of the cartoons and the rest were like really old! So, far the start of the new quarter is going great, and im excited. Im really proud of myself that i was able to maintain a 95 in English! All you have to do is keep up on your BLOGS and your grade will shoot up really quick! SO DO YOUR BLOGS!!!!!!

I hope this quarter goes great for everyone, goooooooodluckkkkk!

SO next week is midterms and im freaking out! all of this studying is making my brain overload, and i feel like im about to burst with so muchhh knowledge! hahahahaha

Anyways so this week in english we have been reading this long story called handcarved coffins. The first couple pages of it i thought was really borring, but it did get better. The story is about different crime scences and how they all come together by this guy trying to figure it all out. We also got our review guides this week. And to be quite honest i dont think theres much to study for. Like maybe reviewing for some of the characters in the book and looking over some notes. But other than that, its like nothing compared to my spanish and history midterms. But this is all a good thinggggggg! hahahaha

I hope we have a snow day next week cause i really could use the extra dayyyy for studying. Anyways i hope everbody gets their studying done!!!!!!!!

January 4 2011

Woww, to think winter break is over and now im back to the regular routine! Blog once a week and the usual English class....
and then midterm exams

SO today in English we have been reading a lot of short stories that are mysteries. This unit that we are learning I think is very interesting. I can stay interested in the topic and i think that the stories that we have been given are far  better than the ones before. Also today in class we read this story about a man who makes a bet to the other guy that he cant light his cigar with his own lighter. Now, i know it sounds like really weird and all but it was a pretty good short story. Anyways, the Jamaican guy ends up betting his car- Cadillac, and the Jamaican guy wants the other guy to bet his finger. Next they go up to the room and the Jamaican guy asks the lady to get him a knife, nails, and a hammer. When i read this part of the story i couldn't believe that the guy was being serious. He literally wanted the guys finger. As it turns out the Jamaican guy was a complete freak and had collected like 47 fingers, and 9 cars... or something like that. The story was soooooooo weird! But it definatley got my interests. What a dayyy!
